The Legend of Usagi Chakraborty - What Came to Mind on the First Day
Usashi Chakraborty has been an active part of the Bengali movie scene since her debut. Her most notable roles are Satyabati, an anti-social youth, in Anjum Radhika's Anjum's Bakshi and Anjum's son in Anjum's movie Aaya. Her other movies include Anjaane, Kajal, Uddhwaja Ekta Kapoor, Aamir Khan, and Vishal Bedi. She is known for her bold performance and strong personalities. Usashi can be seen in all kinds of Bengali films.
Usagi plays the pivotal role of a young girl who was born as a Hindu in the state of Bihar. The girl's father was a Brahmin and he was not ready to convert to Islam and marry his daughter. As a result, she was left alone in the house. Usagi grew up knowing nothing but her Hindu and Muslim culture and identity. She soon started to develop resentment against her father for refusing to convert to Islam.
Usagi loved animals and would spend many hours with her father taking care of them. Eventually, she met a Hindu boy named Ajith. Ajith was a Brahmin and was willing to give up his religion.
Usagi loved Ajith very much. But she also fell in love with another boy named Bikas. Bikas was the son of a Hindu priest. Bikas' father was very strict and used to make sure that no one in his family ever mixed with Muslims. Bikas was born with bad skin and was treated like a pariah in his home. Usagi was forced to take the help of her sister Satyaba to hide herself away from Bikas.
Bikas was very supportive of Usagi but at times she could not help herself from thinking about Bikas. After that, Bikas' father decided to convert to Islam. to marry Usagi. Usagi was forced to accept the marriage and to leave her beloved Ajith.
In the ending of this movie, Usagi leaves Ajith because she realizes her father is still not ready to convert to Islam. Ajith is killed by the police. Usagi is left alone with Bikas, who does not care about her at all. She has a friend named Shashree and they have a sweet relationship. Bikas takes her to the Himalayas and gives her a new name, Chintamani. She spends a few years with her friends and Bikas takes care of her son.
When Bikas' husband returns, he takes care of Usagi as well. Bikas falls in love with Chintamani and she finally decides to marry him. However, Bikas has other plans for her and decides to marry Chintamani's best friend. At the end of the film, Usagi is still single.
The film Usagi was the third film in the anime series of My Neighbor Totoro. It was a huge hit and earned the attention of audiences all around the world. It won an Oscar award for Best Animated Film.
